  • carves up monitors to be local remote desktop sessions
  • Remote Desktop Protocol
  • Instead of over network connection, local loopback to the host computer
  • 2012 changes it a little, so that instad of RDP for Direct video stations, there is a direct framebuffer for better video performance.
