Sumatra PDF
- Installer file: SumatraPDF-2.2.1-install.exe
- License: GPLv3 License, Sumatra Simplified BSD License
Sumatra is a very lightwieght and fast PDF reader. The canonical Adobe PDF reader has a very large memory footprint, and is fairly resource intensive. We plan to include Adobe Reader as well, but the default will be Sumatra for everyday pdf reading. Adobe should only be used if there is a problem reading a particular PDF with Sumatra.
NOte: THere will be no thumbails in the windows explorer from Sumatra. This is because Sumatra is a 32-bit app, and cannot integrate that feature with the 64-bit Windows Explorer. You can get the preview becuase that is implemented in a different way. This allows you to open the preview pane in Windows Explorer and see the document.
Note: WHen browsing for a file using the Open File dialog of SUmatra itself, you will see thumbnail images represting the files. This is becuase 32-bit apps launch the explorer in a different way.
